Post Care
- There may be some slight redness and swelling, but you can resume normal activity immediately after the procedure.
- If you experience pain or swelling, apply Aquaphor to soothe the skin. Advil and/or Tylenol are safe to use for pain relief and to reduce swelling.
- Lips may feel tight when laughing or smiling.
- Some peeling may occur, usually on the third day after the procedure. Apply additional Aquaphor, and do not pick or peel the healing skin!
- Continually apply Heal Quick Lip Balm or Aquaphor before eating, brushing teeth, washing your face and showering. This prevents bacteria and keeps the area protected while healing.
- Do not rub, touch, or disturb the area. Wipe your mouth gently!
- Gently wash your face and brush your teeth, trying to avoid the lip area.
- Avoid sun, wind, or tanning of any kind for 1 week post procedure.
- As lips heal, the pigment may seem to be lost, however, color should return after 1-2 weeks once the skin has fully healed. Additional color can be applied during the second appointment, as well as any other desired adjustments.
- If you have Herpes simplex (cold sores, or fever blisters) please inform us that you have the virus as this procedure can trigger an outbreak. You must currently be taking medication before getting this procedure.
